Inflatable PFD - Not Allowed on Airplanes

With the increased security at US airports, inflatable PFD's are not allowed to be taken on flights. At least the CO2 cartridge is not allowed. Since the airline security can't tell exactly what is in the canister they are not allowed. You could take the pfd and just buy a new cartridge upon your arrival at your destination.

Not always easily accomplished depending on where you are sailing. I'm currently in a the same boat with my pfd in the bvi and my co2 recharge kit here in the states!
