We have used what we consider a Northhill in my area for 30 years with great success. My boat is 33,000 pounds and has a lot of windage and it came with a 50 pound plow anchor. The 50 pound plow nor a 44 pound Bruce anchor would penetrate the weeds and in 15+ winds we would drift.

My previous boat, a C&C 34 sail boat at 10,500 pounds held in the weeds with a 27 pound Northhill. A 50 pound plow was kept as a backup and never used.

For the Cruisers 405 power boat I had a 60 pound folding ss Northhill made. It has proven to be the anchor of choice and will hold in the weeds. I also had a 27 pound ss folding anchor made that is stowed for deployment if needed. Picture in the Equipment section SS60 SS27
