Hello From Texas, From A Gift To A Dream

We are newbies. I gave my husband sailing lessons as a gift, and found that we loved it. We have sailed monohulls here and continued lessons in Belize on a catamaran. We love the water and have traveled quite a bit by land, and within the next couple of years would like to start sailing extensively. I am reading Buy,OutFit, and Sail, and so if anyone knows of a good deal on a catamaran, we are looking for a 38 and up. I find this forum to be a wealth of information and entertainment. Thank you to all of you who post.

Sailing lessons as a gift, or a curse? I guess time will tell.
Welcome aboard, and keep posting on your progress.

Re: Hello From Texas, From A Gift To A Dream

Congrats and welcome aboard.

When saltwater gets in your blood, there is no going back.
We are mid 60's/early 70's and have lived aboard for about 16 years or so. We just transitioned from sail to power due to physical problems but are full time cruisers and have no plans on returning to dirt dwelling.
We left Kemah, Tx on Dec. 23rd and arrived in Gulfport, Ms about 2 weeks ago. Comes early spring we will be going northward to Kentucky Lake, Ky.
We have already met face to face with several people that we met on here and other forums. Maybe catch you guys in the Bahamas in a year or so.
