Re: Recommendations for Electronics Installer in Seattle

Based on a terrible installation in a previous boat, I would avoid J&G in Tacoma.

What sort of budget are people looking at for replacing all nav and radar equipment on a 42ft boat? Equipment package $15-20k so what labour cost would you envisage?

Re: Recommendations for Electronics Installer in Seattle

They often estimate labor charge to be equal to the price of the equipment. That is how much both the builder and dealer of my new boat were charging.

Why a package? If the depth and radio work, why spend the money? Much more "cost efficient" to get them to work together. In fact a Vesper XB-8000 will translate the NMEA0183 sentences to 2000 and do AIS.
