Route transfer from OpenCPN to Garmin Gpsmap 1040xs

Hello,

I have been searching for awhile on this topic but its still isn't clear to me. I've spent a considerable amount of time on CF and the OpenCPN manual but no luck. This is what I'd like to do. During passage planning and creating routes on OpenCPN I'd like to transfer them to my Chartplotter, which is a Garmin Gpsmap 1040xs. How do I go about doing this exactly? Also, If I'm using NVcharts on my OpenCPN would that hinder me from transferring routes to the Garmin? FYI I have Windows 10 running OpenCPN. Thank you. Feel free to be incredibly detailed, I'm not so techie.

There is another recent thread about this, find it. Or search on the manual. There are several pages on the topic. Also search on beta plugin obabel in the dev manual. Good luck. Let us know how youre doing on it. Also write it up, well add it to the manual for others.
