Re: From Colombia to Panama, Central America or Pacific

We crossed from the Caribbean to Panama in 2014 and crossed the Pacific in 2015. You are well qualified to be crew.

If you do not find a boat on the Forum the one almost guaranteed place to get a ride is in Panama in January and February when the boats are preparing to cross the Pacific. Boats congregate in Shelter Bay Marina at the Eastern end of the Canal and the boats need crew to get through the Canal and several need crew for the Pacific. At the Western end boats anchor at the edge of the Canal in Las Brisas and La Playita and the daily radio net is the source of crewing positions. The marinas in La Plaita are not cruiser friendly and are not a source of help but Shelter Bay will help but is a $20 taxi ride from Colon.

Re: From Colombia to Panama, Central America or Pacific

Hi, we're already in Panama and will be setting off across the Pacific in the new year. Definitely would like to chat to you guys.
We're currently in Porto Lindo / San Blas until December. We may do another trip to Cartagena but not sure at this stage. Best if you can get yourselves to Panama.
We're two Aussies in our late thirties sailing our Jeanneau 45 back from Greece to Sydney.
Let me know if you're interested.
Cheers,
Simon
