When requesting female crew, it's normally good to explain why and mention your own sex.

Too many of these ads requesting female crew have a creepy feel to them.

Guys...Guys...
Please hold your horses!
Creepy feel...clear on the why...???!
It's ALL in your heads...too many scary movies maybe?
Since when it's creepy or a crime to prefer female company on board your own yacht on a cruise?
And why do you think that I should explain anything at all to YOU? Hello! it's the 21 century!
Get a life!

It might have been better to just ask for crew and then pick a female that applies.

Sheez. This happens every time a guy comes on here seeking female companionship. Give them a break and get your heads out of the gutter.
Welcome to CF, Skip, and good luck in your search. You have to post a few more times to be able to respond to PMs.

Re: Female crew for sailing trip June 2017
When it comes advertising for crew more info is preferable to less. This is true for all but especially when gender preference is mentioned. What type of boat is it? What are the accommodations? What would the crew duties be? What type of boating experience is required? Would the crew be asked to participate financially? What is the skipper's boating resume? Would the female crew be the only crew? These are a few details that the original post could have included to avoid speculation.

Agreed, those are nice details that every crew posting should contain (yet most often don't), but that's not actually what I was responding to. It was the other posts about "eww gross" and "creepy."

C'mon, he has two posts, no background here and is requesting for, only, a female to join him as crew on his boat, away from shore, for days at a time.
Most people know better that you need to establish yourself on a forum before requesting same sex only crew.

Re: Female crew for sailing trip June 2017
Being a male in my mid sixties I feel a need to respond to this post, to explain the most important thing I'd be looking for in crew is 2 things; Firstly the ability to handle the boat and allow me to feel comfortable during my afternoon naps knowing that my boat is in good capable hands.
Secondly, when it comes to gender I personally find it easier to have conversations with the members of the opposite sex. The talk and subject matter is usually lighter with no staring down, primarily because the testosterone levels are a little lower and the need to show me how much better they would be sailing in a heavy wind than I would.
And of course the accepted female role in most relation ships.................
A better cook

That's funny... I've been around this forum for quite a while, and I did not know that.
It is the necessary duty for any pickup crew to vet the skipper, any additional crew and the vessel before signing on. Doesn't matter if male, female or indeterminate, your life may depend upon this process.
The OP was not skillfully crafted, and should have included much more info, but to imagine evil intent from that is way over t he top IMO. Skip may or may not find his crew here, but hopefully that person will do the right thing and perform their own investigation. Skip, of course should equally vet the ap
Skip, welcome to CF, good luck with the cruise and don't let those accusatory posts turn you away.
