Corinth canal...without boat

We're going to Greece next week and have to get from Athens to Patras for ferry on to the islands.
Unfortunately we're not packing our boat but I was hoping there's a way to pay our way on a canal cruise somehow, but as far as I can tell there's no passenger traffic through the canal?

Would love to be wrong as we'd really like to do some navigational sightseeing!
What's a common staging marina for private boats going through?

I think I am correct in saying Zohar there are “Tripper” type boat trips from Corinth through the canal.
Personaly I would just recommend standing on the road bridge looking down as the boats pass through. That’s what most people do.
