Pacific Offshore Rigging in San Diego - Experience?

Has anyone worked with Pacific Offshore Rigging in San Diego since Fritz sold it and, if so, would you be willing to share your experience with me? Good, bad, indifferent? I know they have an outstanding reputation but what about "post-Fritz"?

Thanks!
Karen

Both Fritz and Richard have moved on, and are sorely missed, but they are enjoying their retirements. The new ownership is a bit stiffer and learning its new customer base, but I have worked with them in the past and feel they are professional and dedicated. My favorite person there now is Stephen Mann, who with Kathleen Torres (gifted writer and over-all wonderwoman), completed a quick circumnavigation a couple years ago. Stephen is especially experienced with the newer synthetic lines. You should have no problems making the transition from one regime to another.

Great...good to know. Also good to know Fritz is enjoying the fruits of his labor!

Sorry to resurrect an old thread. I'm relatively new to the forum and have updated info regarding Fritz and Pacific Offshore Rigging that may help other people who like me were wondering the same thing as the original post.

The legendary Fritz still works at Pacific Offshore Rigging but no longer full-time. The new owner, Kasey, worked for Fritz for a while prior to buying the business and in my opinion does a good job continuing Fritz's legacy. In fact they're working on my mast right now.

But if you're looking for Fritz in particular you're in luck because "rumors of his retirement have been greatly exaggerated..."

Fritz Richardson is a treasure: experienced, friendly, generous and honest. I've known him for almost as long as I've had my boat, over thirty-five years. Currently he is working with me on my upgrade of stick, deck gear and sail plan, prior to my taking off on cruise. He had a sister ship to mine, in which his kids grew up sailing. Now they are grown and off into the world. We are very lucky to have him available.

robwilk37, if you are looking for a 50' mast, cutter rigged, I'll be selling mine shortly. Send a PM and I'll give you the particulars.

A little late with this post.
If you can get Steven Mann to do your rigging you have a world class guy.
He's my old sailing instructor and did really first class improvements to my boat.
And he is great person, and a hell of a sailor!

Hope he is well, would like an update , anybody?
