Frogs in the bilge.
My Baba 30 is on land in N Florida for 2 years due to my wife’s illness. On my last trip to check on the boat frogs were living in the bilge, I caught one and tossed it out. Has anyone had a similar badly behaving frogs and is there any preventative action anyone knows of to prevent them entering and living on the boat? I stuffed stainless steel dishwasher scrubs in all openings under and above the waterline. Thank you.

Re: Frogs in the bilge.
Thats a new one...maybe a good cruising idea...self sustaining frog farm in the bilge....taste like chicken...as long as you wash the bilge funk off then first. 😆

Re: Frogs in the bilge.
Pour some bleach in the bilge. We are on the hard at Indiantown and find them onboard everyday. Only a couple have made it inside ,,,,, now they are dead

Re: Frogs in the bilge.
In Delaware they parked my under a tree. Leaves in cockpit. Tree frogs in the leaves.
Better than squirrels in the main. Last summer, New Bern, left main on boat. Raised main to find damn squirrels ate big holes in it. Squirrel stew is good.
Both boats had ants. Set out any traps and that worked.

Frogs will keep the insect population down.

Do you think that frogs will eat a weasel?

Re: Frogs in the bilge.
I have iguanas pooping all over my boat, but fortunately none have gotten inside. Damn things are everywhere in South Florida :-(. Anyone have a good solution to keeping them off the boat?

I don't think I've had frogs in the bilge since the hull left the factory in France.. ;-)

Re: Frogs in the bilge.
Generally frogs follow insects. If there are a lot of bugs there will be a lot of frogs. Get rid of the bugs and the frogs will (mostly) go away.
Possibly the biggest frog debacle I've seen was when my Dad had cancer, we set up an indoor tomato-growing operation in my greenhouse where he could have fun and stay warm. Tomatoes draw white-flies. White-flies draw frogs. There were actually as many frogs as tomatoes on those vines. When you emerged from the greenhouse, there would be frogs on your shoulders, one on top of your hat, maybe one inside your shirt. Sometimes I'd be back in the office before I noticed one on me. Or it would suddenly jump from my hat onto the computer. It took a couple of years for things to get back to normal.

Re: Frogs in the bilge.
The only thing worse than live frogs in the bilge is dead frogs in the bilge.
To avoid getting warts in your ear, avoid frogs that whisper.
