Light symbols on oeSENC charts to large

Aghh! The title should read "too" large of course, sorry... how careless.

OpenCPN 4.8.0/plugin v1.2

On my oeSENC charts the coloured "splash" that is shown when displaying ENC lights is a bit bigger than I'd like and I think is bigger than it used to be and covers quite a large area. Displaying a similar CM93 chart is more the size I'd prefer. Under User Interface I have Chart Object scale factor set to -2.

I am not sure if this was introduced when moving from 4.6.1 to 4.8.0 or plugin v1.1 to 1.2 or whether it was a feature of the latest version of oeSENC charts.

Can anyone advise?

Please see comparison of oeSENC vs CM93.

Thank you
oeSENC

All Symbols were updated and enlarged slightly in 4.8.0
Due to increased pixel density of displays I believe.

OK, but it doesn't seem to have affected CM93 chart symbols which remain a sensible size.

Can you check the screen size and resolution detected by OpenCPN (in the log file, quite at program start)?

And please measure the size of the lights on your screen (in mm).

Your platform? Win, Lin, macOS?

baltica....
I see the difference between CM93 and UK-oeSENC as well. But if you adjust the "Chart Object scale factor" slider in Tools>>Options>>User Interface I think you'll get a reasonable light size for both chart system. I use the value -2.

Thanks. You will see from reading my original post that I am already using a value of -2.

Raspberry Pi 3 running OpenPlotter 0.15.0

Length of the splash from base of the chart object to the end is around 14mm

Resolution in opencpn.log is:

Metrics: m_display_size_mm: 100 wxDisplaySize: 1920:1200

Re: Light symbols on oeSENC charts to large

There is an update for oeSENc (all architectures) in preparation.

Should resolve this.
As an observation: about 10mm is the value the light should size.

baltika_no_9...

It seems that the screen size detection logic for this platform may be incorrect.

Metrics: m_display_size_mm: 100 wxDisplaySize: 1920:1200

The 100 mm size reported is a minimum default. Please try manually setting the display size in options->Display->Advanced->Physical Screen Width.

Thanks
Dave

Dave that's excellent, thank you. I changed the screen size to 520mm and the lights are now correctly scaled.

You are a gentleman.
