Morocco Atlantic Anchorages

We aim to leave Gibraltar in the next few days and head down the Atlantic coast of Morocco. I have the pilotage but it identifies (as is normal) a limited number of anchorages. Does anyone have recommendations for Anchorages on the Atlantic coast of Morocco. We draw 8ft and are 60ft so need a bit of water. Thanks in advance for any help.

None that I know of. I did hear of a few cruisers stuck in Rabat last week waiting 2 weeks for the swell to drop enough to leave though.
A good anchorage between graciosa and lanzarote when you arrive though.

Same here. We've only been down that coast the once, but I cannot recall one single anchorage that would be tenable in anything other than a flat calm. In fact, not even then; we had a day when motoring in a F1, across glass-flat seas, where the swell 'grew' from 6" to 6' in about three hours; presumably generated from some weather system way out in the Atlantic? which would've proved a bit of a wake-up call had we been anchored off the open beach.

The whole coastline is a relatively shallow lee shore, in addition, I believe that if not actually 'illegal' in Morocco, it is certainly not encouraged for foreign flagged vessels to anchor off.
