I have very little experience with furlers and am wondering what overlap works best. I have a
Gemini 3000 which I have re rigged with the rig from a 3200. The Geminis essentially have a
monohull rig and the 3200 has a double spreader rig which offers a much tighter sheeting angle than the old 3000 rig. I bought a complete rig with
sails from a guy who was converting his to a
power cat and the headsail that came with it is about a 155% and has to sheet to the track on the gunwhale which seems like a bad choice as an all around sail as I don't see it working well upwind. I also have an older sail that is about 115% that
sheets to the inboard tracks on the
cabin top which can take advantage of the narrow sheeting angle but is really a bit small for an all around sail on a
furler. Im guessing maybe something around 130 ish would be a reasonable compromise so thought I would check and see what is typical.
