Orange Beach Gulf Shores Alabama Liveaboard Options??

Hi - I've read some earlier postings on marinas near Gulf Shores/Orange Beach, AL and went down last weekend to look around. I just didn't see a lot of liveaboard activity - loved Bear Point Harbor marina and saw one liveaboard couple on a sailboat. Went to Homepoint Marina - a couple of run down houseboats with people living on them, concrete walls everywhere, loud restaurnt next door (Jimmy Buffet's sister's place).

Does anyone have other suggestions? I was basing my marina options on a posting on this forum from 2011 so any updates would be appreciated. Where could I find the company of other liveaboards and a nice friendly, pretty setting.

This would be trawler liveaboard (which I didn't see any liveaboards on trawlers during my stay). Thanks very much for any advice !

I have been looking in the same area and haven’t found many options either

We used to live at Grand View Marina, they allowed liveaboards at that time. The Mariner Marina allows but is usually full up. The River Yacht Basin told us they should start allowing in about a year (been a year so worth a shot)
They are all located on Dog River well up into Mobile Bay.
