Anyone from Fremantle Australia? - Reliable surveyors?

Greetings all. I am looking at a timber yacht presently in Fremantle. If I move ahead I will want to gain the services of reliable surveyors for hull, riggers for standing rigging and an engineer for the diesel engine. I would be very grateful for any input from anyone experienced with their services in Western Australia. By all means PM me if you want to slam someone in private. I promise to keep your "non-recommendations" private and confidential as well.

Thanks Gord May. The problem with that list is that it includes businesses that in fact do not do yacht surveys but commercial vessels/big ship only. I did however have a phone call in response to several emails I sent yesterday - scatter gun approach. That was from Capt Keys. Although he did not do this type of survey he was very helpful with contact names and numbers of people to try. It's just one of those situations where if you live and sail in an area you pick up that sort of local knowledge. Over here I know the names to go to. For W.A. I'm blind.

Ian is also a shipwright as well as a surveyor and has many years experience.

He surveyed my 34' UFO and did a very thorough job and gave a comprehensive report along with a verbal run down of the issues - I was very impressed, unlike the sellers broker, who thought it would be a quick couple of hours and he could get out of there - 12 Hours later the job was done - This included hauling and a sea test.
