O'Day 322 Wing, Catalina 30T

I'm thinking of getting back into sailing. I had a CS22 "years ago". I've been looking for a Great Lakes cruiser with some speed, some comfort and can be handled single-handed. I've looked at a lot of 30"-34" and settled on the O'Day and Catalina. I hope to eventually sail down the east coast in a few years.
Any thoughts on these two or other boats? What recommendations would you have on the electronics to get?
Thanx.
