1compitant crew to Philipines/ketch

Looking for 1 more crew to assist owner one-way to Philippines. 45' well maintained 20tonne off shore ketch. Owner; easy going, older, well seasoned with military and cruiseship background, needs 1 more crew. Must be experienced. Im too old to fight the helm (tiller in this case) alone, but have a ready vessel and desire.
Depart BC coast after sea trials as crew test, at best sail season 2017. Please, only if you understand what is entailed should you reply. Must understand Navigation before GPS or willing to learn, and tough faith enough to do it without the complaints.

Re: 1compitant crew to Philipines/ketch

Greetings,
May I ask your port of departure and your intended route? I may be interested, but more info on your boat, equipment and number of crew would be helpful. I have appox. 15k ocean miles, most recently from Cape Town S.A. to Annapolis, Md. in 2016. And, final destination port in Philippines would be of interest to plan where to fly out from. I am U.S. citizen but stay in Taiwan about half the year so it would be convenient for return flight.
Thanks

I may be interested. I live on a sailboat in Fort Pierce, Florida, but spend time in the Philippines. I am in the Philippines right now, but will be going home the middle of February. I would like more details of your plans.

Re: 1compitant crew to Philipines/ketch

I took a course in celestial navigation several years ago, but haven't used it for sometime now. I understand dead reckoning and paper navigation. I won't leave home without paper charts. Too much can go wrong with electronics and paper is all you have left. I am very mechanical and can find and fix most anything on a boat. I am retired tooling and design for manufacturing, and I spent a couple of years working as a nurse. I have years sailing experience but nothing as distance as you plan, although I have been considering sailing my boat to the Philippines. What port are you considering in Phil?
