Have tried everywhere (even boat wreckers) to find that odd shaped front hatch with no luck. A big enough hatch to cover the wide side would make an enormous hole on deck and leave little room to walk around it.
Nothing fits the opening unless you go through the major trouble of modifying the whole wood frame on deck.
Have seen a proper aluminum framed, Lexan front hatch on a Morgan 33 O.I. but a Pilothouse model, maybe 1980 or later vintage judging by the opening ports. Had to take pictures of that one, but ...the deck opening for it was rectangular, as if made that way by the factory.
I had to become accustomed and fond of the original 'mound' type hatch. It's purpose is to act as a type of 'Dorade box', for ventilation at the dock. I don't latch it down hard to the maximum and instead, place a 2" wide wood dowel to leave it raised a little, then also attached vinyl tubing to the wood frame, half way up and all around, to prevent any splashes to rise over the rim of the wood frame, which when the hatch is locked down tight, acts as a gasket around the perimeter of the inside of that dome shaped hatch and glued some foam wedges to the four corners of the inside of the hatch to seal those corners for when rough seas.
The only other way to seal that hatch is to build up the wood frame higher all around by 1/2" and then add a weather gasket, to seal flat against the hatch top.
If your original hatch is repairable, do that. If the brown, translucent top is in bad condition, clean and dry it well and re-coat with thin resin as if it was paint.
If your original hatch is not useable, make another with teak wood frame and Lexan top and re-use the original hinges and put cotter pins on those hinge pins.
You wont find a commercial hatch to fit well. The style we have is actually good, strong, scoops a lot of air, even partially open on a rainy day and does not leak by itself because it does not depend on a mechanical seal.
