Sailing Around Thailand Timeframe

Hi Everyone
We have sailed between Singapore and Thailand several times and our last trip (Nov 2015) we found the Thailand (Ao Po) authorities seemed to be getting a little tougher on foreign vessels.

My question is has anyone sailed between Phuket and Langkawi over a 12 month period, going back and forth between the two over such a long period?

I am aware of the 30 day stay in Thailand and was planning on heading back to Langkawi each month to ensure we clear out of Thailand.

We are planning on spending 4 weeks in Thailand waters and then 1 week in Malaysian waters and them repeat the process time and time again.

I am not sure if they have any restrictions on how many times or how much time a boat and crew can do this before they stop us doing so.

Appreciate any help on this issue.

Why not just get 60 day visa, which can be extended by another 30. This allows 90 days each country and continue...

Has anyone applied for the retirement visa in Thailand as l am told if your over 50 and retired you can apply for this visa which is a 12 month visa, allowing you to stay in Thailand for 12 months.

I am aware that the boat is only allowed in Thai waters for 6 months but l am unsure how long it must be out of Thai waters once you complete the 6 months of having the boat in Thai waters, before you can have the boat back in Thai waters again, can anyone help?

Try contacting Pook at Boat Lagoon Phuket. She deals a lot with boat and crew visas and can generally cut through a lot of red tape, as well as advise on the depth and shade of the colour of that tape:

check out the retirement visas at Retirement Visa in Thailand | ThaiEmbassy.com. Don't forget you will have to provide proof of funds and you still have to report to immigration every 90 days.
Noonsite and sailing friends advise they are trying to bring back old rules; owner goes, so does boat irrespective of visa. Perhaps keep an eye on Noonsite as they are working to update this information.
