Non-Equity Partnership in Gemini 105MC

We are considering taking on a non-equity partner for our 2002 Gemini 105MC. We are non -handy sailing newbies who cruise the Caribbean 4 months per year (Jan - April). Our idea is to find an experienced sailor handyperson who will share expenses and do all repairs and maintenance, in return for full and exclusive use of the boat 8 months of the year. We would prefer someone in Florida, as that is where we keep the boat although we are Canadians. If interested send us an email to bcaldoc@hotmail.com.

We are considering the same only reversed. We have a 1982 - 45' Dufour 12000CT Ketch. We are very experianced and ready to retire from cruising, we would like to find someone who would pay for the boat maintenance in exchange for equity or non-equity partnership. We are willing to deliver and move the boat anywhere in the world that has deep enough water.
As Canadians you can keep your boat at Hemmingway Marina, Cuba. If you want assitance with that venture, I can help.

They probably think is some sort of sham.
Where in Florida do you keep your boat?

Not a scam, we are ordinary people living our dream but with inadequate skills to look after our boat. Currently we keep the boat in Key West but that is flexible, we do want Florida however in order to minimize transit time to the Caribbean islands where we spend our 4 winter months. We have a blog at sailblogs.com. Our boat is named Watts Up

Non-Equity Partnership in Gemini 105MC

Why not keeping it in Puerto Rico at the Ponce Yacht&Fishing Club for example.

Better weather, good prices, well equipped marina and you are right there, a 24 hour cruise from the SVI/BVI/USVI
Airport 10 minutes from marina with daily Jet Blue flights to JFK.

I'll look after your boat.

regards,

Rich

found partner

Just to let anyone who might be interested know, we have found the perfect partner. So far this is working well. We own the boat and use it 4 months a year, he maintains and upgrades the boat and uses it 8 months a year. We pay parts, he provides a dock and skilled labor.

Sounds like an interesting arrangement. I am sure many will be interested in periodic updates.

Did you prepare a formal partnership document?
Did you use lawyers?

Any concerns you might have?

Just curious as I am in the messy throes of a failing partnership. The contract is holding up well but it is a PITA to be sure.
