Nassau, Bahamas to Bermuda 1 April to 15 April 2017

Hi,

I am looking for one or two experienced crew for the passage Nassau, Bahamas to St. George, Bermuda, with intended departure date 1st April 2017. The actual passage may take something around 6 days offshore, but two weeks should be planned to accommodate preparing the boat and potential waiting for a weather window.

You should have experience of at least one longer ocean crossing and be able to take watches independently, and ideally have some sort of certification (Competent crew, Coastal skipper etc.). This passage could be useful for people who want to collect mileage for a Yachtmaster exam etc.

Please take a look at our blog to see pics of the boat and our trip and to see if you would fit to our spirit: sykiwi.blogspot.com . Safety during the crossing is of prime importance. Sanja, the skipper, knows the boat very well and is a conservative, safety minded person with ocean passage and cruising experience, both as skipper of her own boat.

The boat is a classic steel hull cutter from 1989, with hank-on head sails. She is seaworthy and equipped with everything needed, see here for more info: 40ft Langedrag steel sloop blue water cruiser 1989 Bahamas and East Coast US 45k $ . We have satelite phone for offshore comunication and daily weather info, life raft, EPIRB, AIS receiver, various GPSs. Our boat is rather low-tech and has, besides safety gear, minimum with electronics. No shower, no water maker, no electric winches or pumps.

Cheers,
Sanja (and Phil)

WRONG DATE! I meant 1 May to 15 May. I'll put a new thread out with the right dates...
