Who wants to go on an Adventure?

Hello all!

My name is Jared, I'm based out of Knoxville, TN and I work with a creative agency affectionately known as JAOPRO (jowprow). Currently, we are in heavy pre production for an upcoming documentary we are filming in September.

So here's the cool part. We're going from Knoxville, TN to New Orleans, LA via waterway for the 1000+ mile epic adventure. This is Voyage.

We want something new, something fresh, we want to do something no one else in our industry has done yet. We want to break away from the monotonous, cell phone-vexed society and find our own adventure. We want to reconnect... REALLY reconnect.reconnect with nature, with each other, and with whomever we may come across on this journey. With us, we are taking a group of professional wakeboarding and wakeskating athletes - some of the best in the world, a film crew, and a support crew following us via interstate highways.

We have two wakeboarding boats from an industry leader in watersports craft (un-named due to temporary NDA) a solid crew and all the logistics covered as best one can for such an endeavor.

What we dont have are support boats. We are currently looking for a pontoon rental company willing to break insurance restrictions to allow us our distance, and also looking for someone with a medium-sized cruiser (preferably not too much over 50') who would be interested in coming along for the ride. This could be a small houseboat or cabin cruiser type vessel. Something that can store crew and gear during extreme weather only, if necessary. We will be camping along the river banks the majority, if not the entire trip, but personal safety of crew comes into play especially with our launch/end dates being at the end of hurricane season.

We launch September 12 and will be at the end of our adventure around October 10th, however, the cruiser support vessel will only accompany us until Demopolis, AL (2/3 of trip) where we will break off and make the last week bare-assed to the elements.

This is going to be the adventure of a lifetime and all of us here at JAOPRO are anxiously awaiting September. To find out more visit the teaser link provided below and visit JAOPRO | Creative Agency - Knoxville, TN to see what we're all about.

Thank you!
Jared

Aloha and welcome aboard!
I hope you find the support crew that you need. The large majority of our members have sailing vessels which is not what you are looking for but maybe there are one or two up in the Kentucky Lakes region that might be able to respond.
kind regards,

Sounds like a great adventure! Welcome to the forums and good luck with finding the support you need!

A couple of suggestions based on my experience:
1. Take with you and use insect repellent when camping, it's chigger city
2. Lots of the riverbank is private property and some owners might not be rolling out the welcome wagon.
3. Be aware of other wee beasties such as Water Moccasins etc.

Best of luck with the trip it sounds really fun!
