2007 Beneteau Cyclades 50 - Ready to Cruise

As this sailing season comes to a close, we have decided we would like to spend the next couple of years in Europe, living ashore and travelling. Rather than leave the boat to grow heavy with moss and barnacles, we are listing our large and comfortable Beneteau 50 for sale. We are currently in the USVI, but will be putting the boat on the hard in Virgin Gorda for hurricane season. We will be happy to show the boat anywhere in the area, and can deliver the boat anywhere within reason, with or without the new owner aboard. If you are beginning cruisers, we will be happy to spent some time aboard with you getting you up to speed.
The boat is truly ready to step aboard and sail away. While we started from a solid cruising platform with a low hours 2007 Beneteau Cyclades 50, we have made many improvements.

The boat is the 5 cabin (4 cabins and crew cabin) version, with 4 full heads and the small crew head. Built for charter comfort, it includes an Onan generator and three air conditioners. The floor plan is open, light, and comfortable.

The addition of the arch not only makes handling the dinghy easy, but allowed us to add 750 Watts of real Kyocera solar panels which are controlled by an Outback MPPT controller. With that much solar power, we rarely run the generator anymore. Once we passed Georgetown, we have only run the generator because any engine should be run once in a while. The sun makes all the power we need south of 23N.

New electronics include a Raymarine HD color radar with a C140W chartplotter, an additional ST60+ Graphics display in the cockpit, a Standard Horizon GX2150+ VHF with AIS which displays on the chartplotter, and a remote microphone in the cockpit.

We added a large Xantrex charger / inverter (3000W inverter and 150A charger) that will keep up with about anything you want to run on a boat. We also installed a new Balmar 100A alternator with the smart external regulator, and there is a used spare Balmar 100A just like it aboard.

The dinghy is an AB Lamina 11, 11.5 feet in length with an aluminum hull. Powered by a Tohatsu 18, we are the envy of the other cruisers and skim around on plane even with 5 of us on board. Outboard and Dinghy were both bought new in May of 2013 and are still in great shape.

A cabinetmaker built custom shelves in all the places we thought Beneteau missed. Everything matches the finish of the boat. We added spice trays to the kitchen counters.

We had a custom canvas shop in Charleston build the new Bimini and Dodger out of Sunbrella and heavy gauge Perspex. The large viewing windows allow you to see the sails through the Bimini. The side and rear shades are Phifertex Plus and make the afternoons very pleasant in the cockpit even when it is sunny, and help keep the rain from blowing in on rainy days.

Of course we added a microwave, and as the large secondary Fridge/Freezer that Beneteau chose for these boats is so power hungry, we added a separate Engel 80 liter freezer in one of our extra cabins. We use the built in primary refrigerator/freezer for everday use and the Engel as a deep freeze. The large secondary freezer is great for dry storage. The Engel will hold enough meat, cheese, and frozen vegetables for 5 people for 6 weeks.

The boat has its own wifi network and range extender to pick up wifi signals from shore.

We have the normal large inventory of tools, screws, nuts, bolts, and so on that a cruising boat must carry. All the electrical tools and connections, wire, etc. as well. Charts are all current and go with the boat as well. Linens, cleaning supplies, dishes, cutlery, etc all go with the boat. Engine spares, parts, filters, belts, etc are all included.

If you bring a swimsuit and a couple of pairs of underwear, t shirts, and shorts, you really can sail away in this boat and live in great comfort without adding a thing.

Email me with questions, and I can send as many pictures as you would like. I will add photos to this add shortly.

Priced at $195,000..
