OpenCNP does not see CHS BSB charts

Would anyone know how I could get OpenCNP to see my Canadian CHS BSB charts?
I don't have an issue with seeing the NOAA raster charts, is there a conversion that has to be performed on the CHS charts?

The CHS charts are in the encrypted BSB4 format - you need to get the plugin to be able to use them.
Download the plugin from PlugIns | Official OpenCPN Homepage
Note that you have to be running a recent 2.4 beta of OpenCPN to use it. The NOAA charts are in the unencrypted BSB3 format, so they don't need the plugin to display.

Well, they certainly forgot to update their website at CHS - Digital charts (and actually every other page about the charts keeps to have that BSBv4 note at the bottom) about this change. And as they keep asking thousands of dollars for them, removing the encryption and switching to a freely copiable format seems to be a bit too nice to believe... But yes, there are other places where they talk about them as BSBv3 (and still ask the same ridiculous money).

UPDATE: Yes indeed, the current (2018) CHS raster charts are BSB v3.

Purchased a set today and had NO problems using them in OpenCPN on android and PC.

What exactly do you mean? They stopped using the encrypted BSB4 and the charts are now exactly the same as the ones from eg. NOAA, just not available for free download. Nothing special is needed anymore.

This is really great news - the annoyance of encryption and the inability (difficulty) to move charts that are already paid for and own to a new computer platform really was infuriating. It's probably only a matter of time before BSBv3 CHS chart files appear somewhere on the internet ... something I won't mourn.

Of course, posting them somewhere on the internet (for others to download) breaks the EULA. Not legal.

Yes, if someone were to register with thepiratebay.org and make them available so people could download them using bittorrent, that would be totally illegal.
