Hi. Me and some pals are planning to take my sailboat through
Germany and
France to the
mediterranean this spring/summer.
We're going to enter
Germany in Emden and then go by the Rhine and Mosel river to
France. In France we'll take the Saonne/Rhone down to the
Med.
The problem is, i can't seem to get a straight answer about roughly how long it takes to go this
route. I'v heard everything from 2-8 weeks!
We're not planning on staying long anywhere along the way, only staying the night, refueling and stock up on suplies.
Has anyone made this trip and can give me an idea of how long the journey itself takes if you take away all the time spent not moving along?
I't would be greatly appreciated to know so that we can plan if we wan't to stay for a few days anywhere along the way.
The
boat goes about 9 knots if you don't run the
engine like a bat out of hell.
here's maps of the
route.
