Repair or upgrade of cockpit seats.

I'm needing to repair my teak cockpit seats. I'm leaning towards removing what's left of the calking, filling with low density filler w/ epoxy, and fiberglass over the wood followed up by Awlgrip and using non skid in the center areas. I have a lot of teak on my boat which of course requires a lot of maintenance so not having to have the seats to maintain certainly wouldn't hurt my feelings as it's an every other month affair that I have with my seats to clean and scrub before applying yet another couple of coats of Teak sealer or teak oil. I've scrubbed those seats so many times that I say that there is no more teak left.. The issues are that the opening seats above the lockers were all redone before I bought her 9 years ago and IMO, they did a really lousy job of replacing the teak strips using small screws to secure the strips and grinding off the heads. You can feel them as you run your hands over the seats, and I have myself carefully ground them down as needed from scrubbing the seats for maintenance. You see, my opinion is that there is no reason to have teak on your boat if you're not going to maintain it and have it look good. I've thought about just redoing the seats, installing new teak strips correctly, and re-calking. I have also seen from this site that there is fake teak coverings, but I'm leery about how it would look especially covering a rounded surface as is the edge of the seats and especially how long it would last. I've also thought about stripping everything down, filling in, and just Awlgrip over everything, but I think it wouldn't look right unless I fiberglass the seats before painting. Pictures below. Thanks for everyone's input on this.
