Partnership in 35' sloop

Magnum is a well set up cruiser, a renowned, sturdy Peter Cole Bounty 35, built by Mayrack in 1977, GRP, hull and keel recently thoroughly rebuilt and strengthened, extensive sail wardrobe including newish mainsail and furling headsails, lazy jacks, single line reefing. 30hp Nanni (fresh water cooled) diesel. Electric anchor winch, self tailing h’sail winches, 10 winches total. LOA 10.5m. Draws 1.6m.

Fitted out for single-handed cruising, autopilot, plotter, VHFs/AIS/DSC, wind instruments etc, lots of safety and cruising gear. 120 watt solar panel, 3 batteries. Has cruised all up and down the East Coast and offshore. The private mooring in Rushcutters Bay, Sydney, just off A finger CYCA, is a fantastic location, one of the best on Sydney Harbour.

Comfy living aboard with full galley, 1880mm headroom, frig, 3 burner gas stove/oven, BBQ. Sleeps up to 7, bunks 1980mm length, hot water (from heat exchanger when engine running), 12v toilet, TV and stereo. Attractive teak fitout.

When doing extended passages I've found a crew of 4 works best and is comfortably accommodated. For cruising, it's best suited for a couple (in the vee berth) with maybe a couple of kids or others. Another couple could bunk down on the settee in the saloon but it's not as private.

I'm seeking a qualified, reliable, friendly sailing partner for 50% share, Magnum currently insured for $48,600. Full documentation, running costs, formal partnership agreement available on enquiry.

I'm retired, from Canberra, have owned yachts in partnership since 1986, and have been sailing for 57 years. I have good DIY skills. Apart from sharing expenses, the major reason I like a partnership is that I have lots of other interests, especially extended travel - so I like the boat to be used. You'd find with a 50% partnership you'd be getting virtually unrestricted use of the vessel.
