Crew wanted, share costs, surfing cruise Phuket to Sumatra return share costs

Crew wanted, share costs, for surfing cruise in Sumatra, Banyak Islands, Nias starting April 2019, returning to Phuket early November.
Ahoy Shipmates, well its on again, the surfmachine 2019 surfing cruise. I need a single crew or couple to help with the watch keeping and expenses in getting the yacht form Phuket to the Banyak islands and back again. 1 month minimum, cost for the first month is $1200 aud, after that it is $400.00 aud a month. Full on surfing sailing cruise, 3 months is best, up to 6 months if you can.

SURFMACHINE: Crew wanted for surfing cruise in Sumatra, Banyak Islands, Nias starting April 2019

* 6 months trip in total
*depart Phuket, Thailand in late April, early May
*2 day sail to top of Sumatra, Banda Aceh, Pulau Weh, where we check into Indonesia, then 2 days sail down the West coast of Sumatra to Treasure island in the Banyaks.
*we stay in the Banyaks at treasure island and the bay of plenty for 60 days, surfing every day, then sail for Sibolga on mainland Sumatra for the first 30 day visa extension.
*then, depending on the surf we either sail across to Nias island and Lagundri Bay or back to the Banyaks. Return to Thailand early November.
*stay out for another 30 days and then sail back to Sibolga for another 30 day visa extension, until we return back to Phuket in November, checking out at Pulau Weh on the way back
*No other costs for you besides air fares to and from the yacht and visa fees of $70 aud in Australia and $30 for each visa extension in Sumatra.
*all food and share of fuel paid for with $1200 aud up front and $400 aud per month afterwards.
*no sailing experience needed, however, it is a hard core surf trip, so you gotta be fit and a keen surfer and like right hand waves?
*call Keith on +61 444526116 or keithstirling1@gmail.com for details!!

Thanks.

$1,200 just to join your boat.. this isn't expense sharing.. you are trying to make money on your crew..

This is WAY TOO commercial of a post for this forum..

That 6 month trip world cost your crew $3200 AUD plus airfares. I agree, doesn't look like expense sharing

Seems you don't have a boat. Compare it with the cost of 6 months in a marina berth plus food.
I think it is very reasonable. 6 months surf trip versus 1 month on a cruise ship - take your choice.

No I don't. If I did stuff like this I could afford one, though. The boat won't be in a marina incurring those costs .... Capitalism at work

The exchange of funds requested sounds minuscule in the scheme of things for that time and experience. Hardly profit making for the skipper.[emoji38][emoji38]

In hindsight, I think you're both right and I would remove my comments if I could. It's the initial month that surprises and confuses but over the period it seems reasonable.

It would also be a pretty cool trip to some great places and, having read surfmachine's posts before, he certainly knows his way around the surf and has a lot of experience in the area. Could be an awesome trip for somebody.

The surf charter boats around here charge $4,000 per head for 2 weeks, so that’s the alternative for such a trip
