Biobor injection pump fuel seals

A friend remarked to me today that I better dilute down a shock treatment of Biobor diesel bug biocide as fast as possible as the stuff is bad for fuel injection pumps, specifically all the rubber? Seals and gaskets, same for the whole the fuel system..Yanmar warns against using Biocide in my user manual but I'm ignoring that.

Does anyone know if there's any truth to this? Googling turns up nothing.

The friend did say he still uses Biobor, but just the smallest maintenance amount that he feels OK with..

If there is some truth to this then perhaps this post might alert others towards a conservative approach with this stuff.

Thanks

Re: Biobor injection pump fuel seals

Ha, OK very funny, thanks yes makes sense..

Another tip which you might also find amusing? And which I knew didn't make any sense was..

"My [his] mechanic told me to always use tefgel or duralac on the junction of the heatexchanger bronze and aluminum end caps(Yanmar)"

I thought that would be a bad idea as it would contaminate the coolant and in any case the O-RINGS and the gasket isolate the metals.
