Sail my boat from Dana Point to Avila Beach, California

I need to get my boat from Dana Point Harbor to Port San Luis (Avila Beach, CA) without me! It's a good condition 26' Balboa Fixed Keel. I've done the northbound sail before and it's mostly motoring and/or tacking, and beautiful. Sail straight through, or, stopover in Marina Del Rey, Ventura, Santa Barbara along the way.

Easy to sail, but no meaningful electronics. Handheld VHF and a depth-meter. Tohatus 9.9 Outboard engine, reliable. Head, grill, very comfortable sleeping arrangements for a few people.

Tell me about your experience, we'll start-off together in Dana Point to run through the systems. Prefer a good sailing resume and ASA certifications.

Needs to happen in August, 2017. LMK if interested: emholmen at gmail

I can't help, but are you wanting to hire a delivery skipper or get someone to do the delivery for free? Not clear from your post.

Re: Sail my boat from Dana Point to Avila Beach, California

So I've gone from MDR to Avila Beach, in my old Columbia 24. I do not see anyone really sailing a boat this size, with an outboard, as sailing straight through. Granted this boat is a little faster, but not that much, and there will be a lot of motoring, realistically. However I echo Jim, what are you asking for exactly? I'd really think it would be a good idea to look for a trailer to borrow or rent. A pick-up could tow this boat. And your boat will probably arrive in one piece.
