Moody 36

Hello all,

I have been unsuccessfully looking all over the internet for feedback on the Moody 36. Not a lot out there. Does anyone have any experience with this model? We have looked at the 425 before and really like the Moody brand. Supposed to look at a 36 as our first boat and possibly a live aboard on Saturday. Any feedback or advise would be appreciated.
Thanks
Jason

Jason, welcome to CF

There are a couple of versions of the 36, which one are you going to look at?

There is an older Angus Primrose version from the late 1970s and early 80s.

Or the more recent Bill Dixon design.

There is an active owners association with a forum for potential buyers.

Thinking of buying a Moody ask a question here | Moody Owners Information Exchange

We have a smaller 31 which suits our needs for two people and the dog. Expensive when new and well built which benefits later owners.

Thank you for the response! I have been to that forum. We looked at a 1981 version. Unfortunately the owner stated that there was blistering and that it was normal for the era. I am unsure of what to believe, but coupled with the other projects that need to be done I don’t believe it is going to be worth further inquiry. I liked the boat, however maybe too much of a project. Any advice or experience with blisters on your Moody?
