Florida Keys - Kemps Channel / Cudjoe Key

Anyone with recent experience? Wondering if I can get my 3.5' draft trawler from Hawk Channel up to G21 / Venture Key.

Two weeks ago we spent three days in New Found Harbor. There is a lot of vegetative type debris in the shallows.

Didn’t venture to the area you are asking about. The water is relatively clear though and you should be able to see any obstructions.

On a similar note I'm wondering about the winds from Key West going east to Key Largo. Can I expect some good when's this time of year to actually sail east or am I basically going to be up against motoring the whole way?

The prevailing winds usually have some easterly component to it, mostly ESE. If you have the luxury of waiting and picking your days you might get a cold front with north winds. Unfortunately, my couple of trips from Key West back up the chain involved schedules and motoring or motor sailing.
