A good place to leave my boat in Bahamas (Abaco)

I need to take my boat to Bahamas (Abaco, around Green Turtle I guess) and leave it there for November/December, either on a mooring ball or a slip in a marina. Anyone know any good recos? Anyone know a good person to look after the boat if it's left on a mooring around that area?

It's a 40 ft sloop with 5'7 draft

All info will be appreciated

At 5'7" I'm pretty sure you won't get into Black Sound on GTC. You will also be challenged to get into White Sound, although you probably could at high tide. Once inside White Sound, you will have plenty of water. Brendal's Dive Shop in White Sound used to rent a mooring ball or two at reasonable rates (about $200USD/month), but they may or may not be available. To be honest, with your draft, I think I'd look at Treasure Cay Marina, somewhere in Marsh Harbour, or Orchid Bay Marina on Great Guana Cay. I think of all of these options, Great Guana Cay is going to give you the most options for entertainment and things to do in general.

A safe place is in the marina at Man-O-War

Abaco Yacht Services in Black Sound. You can get into Black sound no problem on med to high tide. You can have the boat hauled and its very reasonable.

5' 7" is not much draft! Is it really that shallow everywhere? Where do bigger boats go?

At 5' 7" you will need to arrive / depart many places such as Black Sound or Hopetown at half tide rising or better. Once you get into Hopetown there are several options for mooring balls and experienced folks to take care of the boat. However, you had best get something nailed down shortly as "the season" is getting started right now.

There's a lot of vessels in Black or White Sound that draw 6ft. You just have to pick the tides and know where your going like all the Bahamas. Vessels over 6ft should wait until high tide to enter White Sound or Black Sound at GT.
