However a couple of years ago there was a post here on CF for a sistership ('92 Beneteau Oceanis 430 Rhea) with an asking price of $129K. The seller said he had recently upgraded to the tune of $80K. The interest on the forum seemed high with many praising the boat in what appeared like an acceptable price. Would the maths here be $80K upgrades + $50K value of the boat = 130K? I wouldn't think anyone would get back a dollar for dollar spent on upgrades.
Asking price and selling price are often distant cousins. Proceed with caution. You do not need this boat, you want this boat.

I wouldn't buy this boat not even for 60k .
Doesn't matter how good the repair on the bow is , the will be always weaker than it was at the begining and this compromises your rigging integrity, just run away and find another boat with less issues .

Yep, don’t buy this one. For a 100k you can get a 10 year old boat.

Thanks again for all your replies. It is interesting to hear what the general sentiment is. Certainly has tempered my interest in this one.
