There is of course a difference between tacking angle and sailing angle...even most production multis tack wide and then you can bring them up closer as boat speed and thus lateral resistance increases.

Why not? It's been done with chicken wire and asphalt roofing paper and tar.

The Tiki looks like its making some pretty good speed but I can't tell how close to wind she is sailing. The Wharram 23 I sailed with the club didn't point too well but had a good turn of speed off the wind.

yeah, i had a tri that tacked up pretty hard, one of my idiot mates had to be kicked off the wheel going under the harbour bridge cos he thought the bloody boat was going where it was pointing whereas he was actually on course to hit the concrete pylon dead centre

The Tiki's are a great improvement on the Traditional design... a lot lighter for a start... two of us could carry a hull on my Tiki 21 when unloading of the trailer onto the trolleys for assembly..
Much lighter than the old Hinemoa's.. and they point and tack..
