Sept. 2015 Club nautico, Cartagena Colombia update

Hi all,

I thought I would put some information out there about club nautico cartagena, seeing as how all the info from noonsite, and even there own website is years old.

To start, all the major construction is complete and the facilities are very very nice. The bathrooms are clean with high end tile finishes.
There is water on the dock for dinghys
The restaurant is affordable and very high end looking inside with friendly waiters.
The dinghy dock is secure and I have yet to see them charge anyone to use it although I think they do charge the (kinda derilict) live a boarders here to use the facilities. We stayed on the dock for 4 days and it cost with electricity about 100 dollars. A good deal in my opinion.

They monitor channel 69 but you have to pretty much yell club nautico 5 times to get the guy to turn his volume up and listen. There is three well stocked marine stores down the road with about the same priced stuff in US.

Other than the dirty water , it's a sweet spot,

Be advised though there is barely any wind at night so you need to either sleep on deck, have ac with genset going, or have tons of fans.

Oh yeah and checking in for anyone who stops at Providencia and uses Mr bush as an agent, there is no more charges or paper work to fill out. You talk to Mr dave at club nautico who makes some copies of your crusing permit and sends you on your way

Thanks for this update. The place was always a little dumpy, but we loved it there.

We were there in 1990, and again in 2007. An interesting place, to say the least.

If you don't mind refreshing my memory, we have a new deeper boat, and I can't remember what the depth is there at the dock. Do you have that info? We were alongside with 7', but our new boat's 10', and I'm not sure if we can make it in there.

Any incidents of robberies out in the anchorage lately? There was a bit of that going on back in '07. Some guys with machetes boarded a couple of boats, scared the hell out of the crews and made off with some cash. Hopefully that's been long cleaned up.

Thanks again for the info, we'll be down in the Caribbean again this winter and might stop there.

Hi tj, I don't think 10' will get in there honestly. I think they have one space on the end of their but I don't even know if there is 10 feet at low water. But have not heard of any crime lately. There is a really strong police presence.
