Paint finish restoration - Has anyone had good results

I look at products like these that add to the gelcoat and it sounds plausible but the skeptic in me says it's a bit dodgy.

Has anyone found a product that they would recomend for restoring the paint finish ?

Are you aiming to restore shine to paint or gelcoat? For gelcoat IIRC we used Poli-Glow on our Soling for about ten years, until we sold it. Seemed to work. For paint, Awlgrip says DON”T use any polishes or waxes, as they will dull the finish. They have a proprietary product that we have not yet tried on our cruising boat.

I'm not sure if it is gelcoat or 2 pack, it's gone a bit flat, I polished it about 2 years ago but it didn't come up as well as I'd like. I was hoping that these additive finishes might do a better job. Thanks for the experiences with Poli-Glow

The quick grip on top sides is due for another coat, so not looking to rejuvenate that, I'll just put another coat on.

There are lots of acrylic type coatings on the market. They all require periodic maintenance just as the gelcoat does. Most don't do well on awlgrip/awlcraft paint finishes and it's often easier to periodically polish and wax gel coat to renew it's finish in the traditional way compared with covering it.

Most of the polyglow jobs I've seen peel and are a pain to strip.

Very confusing vocabulary being used in this thread. Refurbishing gelcoat calls for one procedure and getting paint up to snuff is entirely different. Awlgrip defines Quick-Grip as a primer coating, not a finish coat paint. If the topsides “are due for another coat” of it, it isn’t gelcoat.
