Two MOB Missing on Beagle Channel Passage - Argentina

New info from Frigate Captain Martin Ribeiro of the Argentine Navy states that the Argentine Navy ship has found the Polish flag sailboat at the mouth of the Rio Lopez and Punta Argentina with only 5 onboard and that the captain and his brother are missing since yesturday afternoon. The navy marines have deployed inflatables from the mother ship the ARA Burruchaga to search for the missing captain and his brother. Also from Ushuaia, Argentina a navy helicopter and a speeed navy boat with marines on board has join the seach for the missing sailors.
We can only pray that theywill find them alive.

captain and his brother are dead, rest of the crew were saved. Yacht in very hard conditions spinned 360 and and were pushed by huge waves (10m) on the beach in Slogget Bay. Here you can find an information about what happened - News: "Nashachata" - jak dosz?o do wypadku? - it's in polish but you can use google translate and catch the sense...

Looks like the boat ended up in the most favorable possible beach condtions that it could. Laying in the sand like that, it may be able to be towed off if there is no significant hull damage. A tragedy for the two lost and their families, however. The Horn is not a safe place to be even in a boat that looks as stout as that one.
