Crew Available: Looking to crew around the Great Lakes this Summer

I have limited experience (Can Sail 1 - Taking Can Sail 2 this summer), but I thoroughly enjoyed the experiences last year (Captained and Crewed a 420 and a Wayfarer, and solo'd a little topaz around our local lake).

I am an eager to learn, physically fit 31 year old teacher in Southern Ontario. I would be looking for sailing experience in and around the great lakes on cruisers as I would like to work my way up and purchase one of my own eventually.

Races, Day sails or overnight trips are welcome. Let me know if you need an extra hand!

On the other hand ... my wife and I (a couple of young retirees) are on the lookout for compatible people interesting in sharing charters on the Great Lakes or Lake Champlain. So, if you think that might be an interesting option, we could talk.

We're a bit ahead of you in terms of certifications and experience; we could do a bareboat charter just the two of us, but prefer to share the fun (and expense ...) if possible.

I would certainty be interested in sharing a charter. You are a ways away from me (up in Ottawa according to your bio), but I know there is a reasonably priced charted company that operates out of Kingston.... could be an option.

My wife isn't as interested in sailing, so it could just be me - or if we wanted a fourth my dad has been learning along with me.

I often teach summer school, so July becomes quite busy, but I am sure we can come up with something for August!

Oh, and if you haven't already found it, keep an eye on crewbank.ca (Ontario sailing). It doesn't seem to get much activity, but what there is appears to be real opportunities, and they would tend to be in your area.

Good day !! I'm on the other side of the pond & after a Non Sailing 2016 due to a serious fall I'm looking forward to the 2017 season. I never had the need to finding sailing companions until I bought my schooner. It takes a little more work than a sloop & if I get across the pond this year I'll try & ley you know. Thanks: Shon

I've exchanged e-mails with the OP. I may have put it a bit off track with my idea of a charter share, which wasn't really what he expected. We thought we might get something going but our schedules for this summer aren't compatible.
