best epoxy/adhesve for plastic

I have a Shurflo 2901 water pump with a broken outlet nipple. I don't know what composite the pump body is molded from, it's some form of plastic. What type of epoxy or adhesive would be best to repair a crack and broken off outlet nipple.

This spring I faced the exact same dilemma with a Shurflo pump I was installing as an anchor wash down. I used West System G flex. Truly remarkable product that seems to be functioning really well.
I located my spare head piece but have had no reason to use it. The repair is holding up so well.

I've used G/Flex and it works better than anything else for that. Might not hurt to mix in a little filler to thicken it up. Materials cost may end up exceeding the price of a new pump though.

Its highly likely that the pump body is molded from Glass Reinforced ABS plastic. Although there is no easy way to tell for sure, there are some simple tests. First if the plastic is black and NOT glossy smooth, thats a good indicator of ABS. Second, try and cut a small piece with a razer knife. If you hear crunching, grinding, thats the glass reinforcement. However, even with those tests its very hard to tell the difference between ABS and Nylon when they are glass reinforced.

In any case, I think your best chance for a good repair is using a quality Epoxy. Possibly even reinforcement with some glass matt.

I have used System Three: https://www.systemthree.com/products...hesive-sealant

I have had good luck with plastics as long as you flame treat before bonding.

Loctite Plastic repair. It's called epoxy, but smells like acrylate (super glue) which I think it's based on.
Acrylate based goop is what your dentist uses to fill cavities.

I haven't tried the above suggestions but they sound pretty good... having said that.. if this pump is below the waterline with a normally open seacock I would consider the down side if this repair fails...
