Radio Australia alternative... Ozyradio

I have just become aware of a new shortwave broadcast station that is now broadcasting on 2 of the old Radio Australia frequencies.

Ozyradio Welcome to Ozy Radio can be found on 3210 kHz ( night) and 5045 kHz ( 24 hours ) . Broadcasting from somewhere in the Sydney area they should be a handy source of news and entertainment for yachts in the Coral and Tasman Seas and even further afield.

I'm sure the would welcome reception reports from 'ships at sea'.

There is also said to be a station in Queensland on 5055 ... see the link....

thanks Ping! I'll try to remember to have a listen down here in Tassie. With propagation as bad as it has been of late, I wonder if I'll hear them?

Meanwhile, how are these stations funded? Adverts, religious or other special interest groups, gov?? We all know about free lunches!

Jim

You know Jim...some people just do stuff because they can......

Doesn't seem to be religious stuff on it, bit of guvment advertising..

Think it is run by Manly-Warringah Radio Club....

Gets proper fashion news from one of the radio nets... I think
