Head Gasket in St. Martin?

Unfortunately, I need the head gasket replaced on my port engine while in St. Martin in the next one to two weeks. It is a Yanmar 3JH4E.

Chris Doyle recommends Armand Amato at Simpson Bay Diesel Services or Ray at Diesel Outfitters for working on Yanmar engines.

Does anyone have any first hand experience with these shops or any others I should contact?

I had the work done by Simpson Bay Diesel Services and I am very pleased with the work they did. They came to the boat anchored outside the Simpson Bay Lagoon Bridge, removed the head on Wednesday, checked it in the shop and had everything back together on Thursday.

Gordon Williams the manager coordinated the job. The work was done by Carl and he was very knowledgeable and professional.

Armand is no longer at Simpson Bay Diesel.

I met MarkJ and he recommended Simpson plus another cruiser chap called Doctor Diesel who I didn't end up talking to.

Great to have this job off the list with a good reliable engine again.
