Re: Hello from Greece

Welcome aboard CF, George.

Your projected move from your Jenneau to a Cat....well, it will be extremely expensive, I hope it will be likely to solve a problem?

Ann

Re: Hello from Greece

Hi Ann !!
Yes it will be expensive for sure but I think it will solve some issues with our needs for more space.
Because we work on board (we make handmade jewelry and more with material we collect from nature mostly ,we need a more stable platform to work above the sea with more inspiring sun !!
Our jeanneau will be in our ♥️ for ever !!

Kalimera. I have a summer house in Ano Glyfada. I'm now in Japan. Are you and your wife "Greek", or are you just living there?

I'm just up the road from your stomping grounds. El Venizelou ... Ano Glyfada.

You and I both know. There's only ONE place to eat GOOD feta, tzatziki, and Kalamata olives. Ἑλλάς !!!

Enjoy Creta.

Re: Hello from Greece

I sail mostly on the Aegean (good wind and not so crowded).

I will sail in some days out of Cavala (Macedónia) to the South. I like to follow the wind so maybe I end up in Crete, or not. I have already been there. I miss the snails. Funny thing is that all over Greece the only place I know off that cooks snails is Crete. I love the way they make them on Crete!

Re: Hello from Greece

Hi Sofia ..
You will need the documents of registration and ownership of the boat .. You will need sailing license to prove that your are capable to handle the boat .if you have kind of license that covers you at your country, that is most of the time enough.
Insurance coverage(liability )for the boat also is needed by the law (but some time they don't ask for it )
Also you will need to have stamps on your paper of the country you are coming (turkey) so don't forget to clear up with customs stamps when you leave turkey .
When you enter Greece visit immigration at local cost guard office and to make the nessesary paper to enter Greece and Europe (180 day permit) about 45 euro cost
They are very friendly and you won't have any problems and if some paper is missing they will give you enough time solve it out

I wish to have a nice time in Greece ..
Pm if you need anything else !!!

hi, George。thank you for all information,it‘s so useful

maybe in september , my first stop in Greece will be Crete
hope to meet you there ,welcome to our boat ,drink some beer or tea

and for the 45 euros, is this for transit log

the other sailor pay that 125 euros in Santorini last year

maybe crete island is a better choice to get in Greece

and about harbour , chania have a good marina for berth ,yes?

hope I am lucky enough , could have a place there。
