Advice on preparing a Beneteau First 38 for the Bluewater

Greetings, I just discovered forums like this exist. Im curious as to what other sailors find important and necessary to go out into the Blue Water in a simple cruising boat. Im currently looking to buy this boat for less than 20k and its in very good condition. Would like hear any advice from other sailors on this topic. Cheers-

Just curious, where is the boat located that you're looking at?

Hard to say, what "bluewater" are you talking about?

What condition is the boat in?

What you plan to do with it?

What experience do you have?

Why would you buy a boat and THEN ask the question?

Beth Leonard's Voyager's Handbook is an excellent first start at learning the many many options and deciding what is best for you.

Many items are not on and would be needed for any coastal boat. It doesn't matter what brand. Sounds like an amazing deal on that First. What's wrong with it?
