We were directed by the airportcustoms office to Jacksonville, which is 52 miles away by car. A guy at the marina had to do the same thing yesterday, so this appears to be a real policy change. It was the first time that the municipal Marina staff had heard of it.
Re: St. Augustine, FL is no longer a customs port.
We called that office and the guy referred us to Jacksonville, saying that they were no longer clearing in boaters. The Jacksonville office cleared us in and apologized for the inconvenience. The officer said that we should be able to clear in at the St. Augustine airport.
