Columbia 8.7 question

Greetings fellow wind riders. A quick question that I haven't been able to find an answer to.

I have a chance to buy a meticulously maintained, well appointed with upgrades and electronics Columbia 8.7 for an extremely good price. My planned usage for the boat would be to sail it from Jersey to Florida in late Fall, then winter as a live aboard at a marina in Florida during the cold months, return in the Spring and store it on its trailer for the summer.

My question is in regards to the hull/deck joint. I don't have a huge list of automatic disqualifiers when considering purchasing a boat, but one of them is hull/deck joints fastened with either pop rivets or self tapping screws. My budget restraints mean that I have to sail in fifteen to twenty year old boats and with hull/deck joints fastened in this way it is the prime time for the inevitable waterfall to appear on the inner hull wall. If anyone can help me out it would be greatly appreciated.
