Surveyors in Annapolis

Can anyone make recommendations for a surveyor in Annapolis? I punched up a list on the web, but I am not familiar with the area or reputability of those listed.

Would appreciate it if I could get some 'thumbs-up' or 'must to avoid' comments from personal or anecdotal experience.

I can strongly recommend Guy Nolan; he covers that area. He's a marine engineer/PE (USCGA), Naval Architect (UM), and was a coast guard small boat inspector before retired to begin survey work. This is from the SAMS website:

Peter Hartoft is very good and very honest. He's not much for small talk but if you have questions he will answer them and found things I think most surveyors would have missed.

I had a very different experience with peter but I will leave it at that. Some surveyors see fresh meat and take advantage of it.

Peter Hartoft has done two surveys for us over the years, both excellent. I'm told his partner Gale Browning is equally good.


Helps to follow Pater around and let him tell you stuff as he goes.
