Re: Texas live aboard 23 foot long
I was just looking yesterday. There may be one in Rockport, or aransas pass, .
Where I am at they require 34' , in Seabrook. I'm not quite that long.
Edit. I don't know Rockport well enough to know if they have a bus system.

Re: Texas live aboard 23 foot long
I have not experienced minimum length requirements for live aboard boats. At the marina in North Florida where I have often remained for months at a time, my nephew lives aboard a 23' Sovereign.
I am curious to know if the marina requires the minimum slip fee for 34' and would allow a 23' boat with that payment. Except for a loss of potential income per slip, I have difficulty understanding a bias against small liveaboards.
Paying more per foot doesn't seem fair either, but I'm wondering if this is an option.

Re: Texas live aboard 23 foot long
Try Island Moorings Marina in Port Aransas. Phone 888-749-9030. They do have a website. Not sure about minimum length requirements but they do allow liveaboards. Shuttle bus service to Port A and Corpus Christi. If you do land here, look me up on the S/V Merlin on 500 dock and I'll buy you a beer. Good luck with your search.

Wow...you are living in a shoebox (no offence)...I'd love to read your blog or see some pics! Impressive! You are living proof you don't need a huge/expensive boat to have fun.

Re: Texas live aboard 23 foot long
Generally minimums relate to charge per month not actual total length at the dock. Call the marina office and check this before you head somewhere that's a compromise. The municipal Marina where I am has a 30' min charge but will accept smaller boats for that minimum cost.

Marina's hate it when i pull in with my Flicka, ( 20 ft. ) always want to charge for a 35ft....
Aahhh greed,,dont you just love it.
Long term solution.
Short term brain.

Coastal in Texas that would happily except
A small yacht.

Not true. We had to leave our old marina when we sold our home and moved aboard (Watergate Marina in Kemah/Clear Lake - minimum 41').
Corpus Christi has a minimum of 30' - Slip Rates & Form
No minimum length at Waterford Marina - Rentals | Waterford Harbor Marina - Kemah, Texas Nice, but transportation would be a problem I think. Not aware of any bus service here.
No minimum at Island Moorings in Port Aransas - Island Moorings Marina Boat Slips Port Aransas Transportation available here.
Not sure about Rockport Harbor Marina/Fulton. - Liveaboard Policy & Rules Pretty run down, and no transportation available.

Re: Texas live aboard 23 foot long
one more to check out. We planned to move there, but changed our mind. I recall it being reasonable, but you need to call and check out the details - Legend Point
Also Bayland Marina, but you're in the middle of nowhere- http://baylandmarina.com/bayland/?page_id=78

FYI, that quote was actually by General William Tecumseh Sherman. Having lived many years in Texas, and visited Hell, I would disagree; but not by much...

Welcome aboard.
Texas is a mighty big place - you want to narrow down what part a little bit so we can help you?
Outside of the obvious coastal areas, there's quite a few freshwater lakes that you can live on.

Re: Texas live aboard 23 foot long
i would try speaking to the dockmaster at the place you like and trying to convince them that you would be a good candidate for living at their marina. it might work.
