Missing boat and crew in the carribean

Hi sailing community,
Consulting here for a missing boat and crew.

My sister Elena, Italian, 25, and her boyfriend Erwann, French, 30, started sailing on 14/12 from a port on south coast of Dominican Republic - we do not know exactly which port - with destination Grenada.
They have not arrived yet at destination, and no further communication with them since 14/12, so it's 24 days now.

They are sailing on a 30ft steel vessel dirty white color, fairly rusty but solid.
Port authorities in the all carribean have been alerted by the Italian embassy, and also cruise ships.
They do not have AIS on board.

Consulting here the community for an opinion on where they may end up if they are adrift, following winds and currents. How long would take to reach land?
Any suggestion on which other searching channels we could activate?

Thanking everybody for the support.
Simon

Re: Missing boat and crew in the carribean

Greetings and welcome aboard the CF, Simon.

The Caribbean winds generally blow Westward, and the currents flow NorthWestward.
I'll leave it to those, more qualified than I, to try to predict your family's likely drift location.
Good luck in your search!

All good!!
They arrived well and safe in Grenada yesterday!!
They got stuck in between strong currents and hard was the route to sail towards west, but no issues at all.
Glad to announce this merry ending, thanks for the support. Wonderful relief!
Cheers
