Haul out in northern Queensland

Looking for an affordable haulout in northern Queensland, Townsville to Port Douglas or further north. September to April.

Our aluminium alloy 14.4m x 7.3m Mumby Cybercat prefers to be hauled and stored. Insurance companies are a bit of an obstacle, but may consider dry storage with cyclone tie-downs.

Anybody cracked that nut?

Tx.

Re: Haul out in northern Queensland

You might look at Gladstone, I know it's farther south, but Gorjac's (or however you spell it) has anchors for tying boats down. Plus, it's inland from Curtis Is. and the cyclones tend to follow the island. Originally, I was thinking about Cairns, but you'd have to do something mangrovey there. IME, April is a little early to think of being cyclone free. Really, for cyclone safety, you should be south of Cape Capricorn.

The weather cares naught for us, please be careful.

Bundaberg but that got wiped last cyclone from flooding.

Australians dont haul out for cyclone season, generally, so prices may not be affordable.

Rosshaven Marine in Townsville could be an option. We hauled our cat out for the wet season and were covered by insurance. Reasonably priced

Probably the best option in Far North Queensland. Nowhere cheap at Cairns or Port Douglas.

You are best to ring around and see what deals you can negotiate for haulout and storage on the hard. Worth trying Mackay marina, Gladstone and Port of Bundaberg marina , if they are in your desired zone. The latter was definitely not "wiped last cyclone from flooding". LOL

I don't think they can haul out cats at Bundy. IIRC, their travel lift is 6m wide.

Mackay can haul out cats & they have cyclone anchors in the concrete hard stand. Sorry don't know about their pricing.
